Will God’s Grace Be Enough?

Do you ever try to look ahead, further than you can see with your natural eyes? Do today’s uncertainties leave you wondering what tomorrow holds, questioning whether God’s grace will really be enough to sustain you for what’s around the bend?

Ten years ago, three of my five children were diagnosed with a serious medical condition. It was scary. Grief overwhelmed me. I wanted to know, what would this mean for my children’s future? What would this mean for our family? I wanted information, but more than that, I craved understanding. Where was God in this?

Back then, my husband and I were full of questions, uncertainties, and unknowns. Worry, anxiety, and fear were real.

We still don’t know what the future holds, and we feel our weakness and need. Yet God has kept our family. He has answered so many prayers. There has been life and joy despite the challenges. Looking back, we see how God has been with us all along.

Psalm 130:5 says,

“I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I hope.”

Over the years, we waited…our souls waited…and in God’s word, we hoped. We clung to promises like this one when we couldn’t see the future:

“‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.'”

2 Corinthians 12:9

What did we find? God’s grace is sufficient, and he is faithful, just like he says (2 Corinthians 12:9). We can trust him.

Today marks the one-year anniversary of my book, He Will Be Enough: How God Takes You by the Hand Through Your Hardest Days, where I share more of our family’s story along with twenty biblical truths that anchor the soul in hard times. Grab a copy for yourself or a friend!
