“The glory of children is their fathers.”
-Proverbs 17:6
You are the best part of their day.
They watch for you,
Waiting to jump into your arms.
“Look at me!” they cry.
She dances for you.
He shows you how fast he can run.
The silly things the baby said,
The joke read in a book,
And the messes made—
All spill out with smiles
As they seek your approval,
Your delight.
You satisfy their hunger,
Looking and listening,
Telling her she’s beautiful
And him, you’re proud.
You are their glory,
The echo of a voice
They long to know;
The father who shows them
A Father.
